What We Believe

Get to know our history and who we are as a congregation and church.

This Church believes that the Scriptures of both the Old and New Testaments were written by men inspired by the Holy Spirit.  We accept the Holy Bible as the truth and inspired record of God's authority in all matters of faith and practice.  This church also has indoctrinated that faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the Word of God, because God's word is the truth and the light that guides and leads us on our Christian walk.

The purpose of this body of baptized believers is to impact those who are lost by showing and sharing with them God’s Holy Oracles, teaching them to observe whatsoever the Oracles have commanded us and not needlessly exposing the infirmities of others, but exercising the Scripture which says he that is without sin among you, let him first cast a stone (John 8:7)

Our Mission

Our Mission is to be faithfully committed to bringing the lost of the world to a saving knowledge of Jesus Christ.

As the branches of a tree bear much fruit, we, too, are dedicated to maintaining spiritual growth and meeting the needs of others.

We are many parts, but one body in Christ, exalting the Savior through praise and worship.

Vision without Work = Dreaming
Work without Vision = Duty
Vision with work = Discipleship

Our
History

Beginnings

The North Baptist Church was organized in the year 1915 by Reverend Walker of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania and a group of dedicated Christians formed a prayer group, which met from house to house. In a special prayer service this small group decided to formally organize, thus calling themselves the North Baptist Church. Later in 1915, Reverend Walker was called to be the first pastor of North Baptist Church. The first services and church meetings were held upstairs in the old of the Woodbury Coal & Supply Building situated on the Woodbury Creek. While still under Reverend Walker’s leadership, the church moved to Green Street Hall, where the building was better suited to the needs of the fledgling church.
